“It’s All About M.E.” Video Contest

OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS
 
 
CONTEST ELIGIBILITY, RULES, CHANCES OF WINNING AND SKILL-TESTING QUESTION:
  1. This Contest is sponsored by Colleges Ontario and is open only to residents of Ontario, who are 13 years of age or older. Colleges Ontario, its authorized retailers, affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, and their respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders, representatives, agents, and individuals living in the same household as any of the above parties, whether related or not, are not eligible to participate in this Contest and will be disqualified.
  2. To enter, a video submission is made at an “It’s All About M.E.” video event location. Eligible entries are voted for online from voter’s Facebook or Twitter accounts, and the entry with the highest number of total votes from each video location will be deemed a winner, subject to the rules, regulations, and conditions contained herein. 
  3. There is a maximum of two people allowed in the video. The “Contestant” who is competing to win the Prize and a “Participant” who is not eligible to win a prize.
  4. This Contest commences October 19, 2009 at 12:01 am Eastern Daylight Savings Time and closes on December 31, 2009 at 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time (“Contest Period”).
  5. Voting starts one week after the Contest release forms are signed and returned to Colleges Ontario by the Contestant and/or  the Participant, or the parent or legal guardian of Contestant and/or  Participant, if he or she is a minor.
  6. The odds of winning a prize in the “It’s All About M.E.” Video Contest (“Contest”) depends on the number and caliber of entries received and the number of votes by registrants on the www.myeducation.me website (“Contest Website”) and votes cast by these visitors to posted video entries during the Contest Period.
  7. In order to be declared a winner and to be eligible for the Prize, selected Contestant will be required to have correctly answered a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question at the time they are contacted by the Contest Sponsor. Contestants (or their parent/legal guardian if they are a minor) are also required to sign a declaration and release form verifying compliance with the rules and regulations and the acceptance of any prize as awarded, and return all documents to Colleges Ontario. All answers to the skill-testing question are final and, if incorrect, will disqualify the entrant from being selected as a Prize winner and from receiving a prize.
  8. In the event an entrant or entrant’s video does not meet the eligibility requirements, or fails to comply with these rules, then Colleges Ontario has no obligation to award any prize to that entrant.
  9. No purchase necessary.
 
HOW TO ENTER (NO PURCHASE NECESSARY):
  1. A limit of one (1) “It’s All About M.E.” video can be entered per Contestant/e-mail address for the entire Contest Period. Contestants can submit their “It’s All About M.E.” video entry at any one of the “It’s All About M.E.” video event locations. If an entrant is found to have submitted more than one video entry during the Contest Period, then all of that entrant’s video submissions will be disqualified and they will not be eligible to receive the prize. Videos must meet eligibility restrictions, and must be submitted at one of the “It’s All About M.E.” video event in order to be eligible to win a prize.
  2. There are 35 “It’s All About M.E.” video event locations, patrons aged 13 years of age and older will be invited to enter the “It’s All About M.E.” Video Contest for a chance to win a Netbook laptop computer with a retail value of approximately $400.00 CDN.
  3. Eligible Contestants and Participants (and their parent/legal guardian if they are a minor) participating in the “It’s All About M.E.” Video Contest will be required to sign a Release/Video Submission form at the event location or, for minors without a parent or guardian present, have a Release/Video Submission form approved via email Videos will not be posted and cannot receive votes until the Release/Video Submission form has been received. .
  4. All video entries shall be recorded  against the “It’s All About M.E.” backdrop on-site at the video event locations.
  5. Video Time Limit: Maximum 60 seconds
  6. Recording an “It’s All About M.E.” video does not constitute proof or evidence that the video is eligible for the Contest. Colleges Ontario reserves the right to disqualify any Contestant and/or remove any video in whole or in part for any reason within its sole and absolute discretion. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, any obscene, offensive, sexual or otherwise inappropriate video including without limitation those referencing or depicting violence, nudity or explicit activity, or which are not in the spirit of the Contest or do not meet Colleges Ontario’s standards for any reason, or any video subject to voting irregularities, vote fixing, or improper or fraudulent voting as determined by Colleges Ontario in its sole discretion, will not be eligible to be entered in or win the Contest. 

    (i) Your entire video is an original work by you (other than any materials that may be furnished to you by Colleges Ontario) and you have not included third-party content (such as writing, poetry, text, dialogue from plays) in or in connection with your video with the exception of videos that may be created by Colleges Ontario at designated Colleges Ontario events;
    (ii) No person or entity other than you has any right, title or interest in any part of your video;
    (iii) Your video, the use thereof by Colleges Ontario, or the exercise by Colleges Ontario of any of the rights granted by you (and your parent/legal guardian if you are a minor) under this Agreement does not and will not infringe or violate any rights of any third party or entity, including, without limitation patent, copyright, trade-mark, trade secret, defamation, privacy, publicity, false light, misappropriation of personality, intentional or negligent infliction of emotional distress, confidentiality, or any contractual or other rights;
    (iv) You have all the rights, licenses, permissions and consents necessary to submit the video and to grant all of the rights that you have granted to Colleges Ontario hereunder;
    (v) You have reached the required age for participation in this Contest (13 years of age) and reside in Ontario at time of entry;
    (vii) You understand, recognize and accept that Colleges Ontario has access to, may create or has created materials and ideas which may be similar or identical to the video in concept, theme, idea, format or other respects. In the event that your video is identical or similar to the video of another entrant, Colleges Ontario reserves the right to score one entry higher than the other subject to the judging criteria set forth below and at the sole discretion of the judging panel.
    (viii) Your video does not make any reference to or likeness of any third parties, unless consent has been obtained from all such individuals (note: if your video contains any third parties who are under the age of majority in their province/territory of residence, then consent must also be contained from any such persons parent or legal guardian).

    By entering, you (and your parent/legal guardian if you are a minor) agree that: (i) all videos become Colleges Ontario’s property and a copy of your video (if it is eligible) will be emailed to you by Colleges Ontario within 3 business days of the event date from which the video was submitted, (ii) Colleges Ontario (and its authorized representatives) have the unlimited right to alter and/or edit the video or any part or element thereof; and (iii) Colleges Ontario and its licensees, successors and assigns have the right to use any and all videos, and the names, likenesses, and images of all persons appearing in the video, for future advertising, promotion and publicity in any manner and in any medium now known or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity.

 
CONTEST DRAWS,PRIZES, & VOTING:
  1. All eligible Contestants recording and submitting an eligible video for consideration in the Contest will receive a “It’s All About M.E.” T-shirt (approximate retail value $15.00 CDN), while supplies last.
  2. There are a total of thirty five (35) prizes available to be one at the outset of the Contest each consisting of a Netbook laptop computer. There is one (1) Prize available to be won at each school. The approximate retail value of each Netbook laptop computer is $400 (CDN).
  3. Online Voting for the Prize: During this portion of the Contest, “It’s All About M.E.” Video Contest Contestants, Participants,  and any visitors to the Contest Website will be eligible to vote once a day for their overall favourite video. The one (1) “It’s All About M.E.” video Contestant with the most votes will be eligible to receive the prize, consisting of a Netbook laptop computer with an approximate retail value of $400 (CAD). In the event of a tie, a random draw will be conducted between the Contestants with the highest number of votes to determine the winner
  4. All eligible videos uploaded to the Contest Website Contest will be available for voting for the Contest period ending December 31, 2009 at 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time. Contestants who submit a video to the Contest Website agree to have their video voted on by other Contestants, Participants, and the general public. In the event that a selected Contestant is disqualified, the Contestant with the second highest number of votes will be declared a winner. In the event of a tie, a random draw will be conducted between the Contestants with the highest number of votes to determine the winner.
  5. To vote each Contest Voter will need to use their own existing Facebook or Twitter account. Colleges Ontario makes no representations or warranties concerning the use of these third party applications and is not responsible for any liability, loss, claim, damages or injuries caused in connection with the use of thee applications.
  6. The use of fake, ‘phantom’ or pseudo Facebook or Twitter accounts for voting purposes is strictly prohibited. Colleges Ontario reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any Contestant and/or remove any video where voting irregularities, duplicate voting, or multiple votes from the same account holder are suspected.
WINNER NOTIFICATION OF CONTEST FINALISTS AND PRIZE WINNER:
  1. Attempts will be made to contact each selected Contestant at the telephone number and/or e-mail address provided in the Contest entry for five (5) business days following the final day of voting as per the schedule. Telephone calls will be made at different times between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Savings Time. If, at the end of five (5) business days, the selected Contestant has not been contacted or confirmed for the Prize or is otherwise ineligible to receive a Prize, then he/she is no longer eligible to receive the Prize and the process will be repeated to attempt to contact a back-up selected Contestant (in the order in which the back-up entries were drawn, in the event that one or more back-up entries are disqualified). The selected Contestant must return any message left by Colleges Ontario or their representative within the timeframe stipulated in the message to remain eligible to win the Prize. Prize claiming details will be provided at the time of contact.
  2. If no selected Contestant has been contacted and confirmed by the deadline specified at the time of contact or in any message, and/or after exhausting all available and eligible back up entries, no further attempts will be made and the Prize will not be awarded.
  3. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected Contestant(s). If no winner is declared for the Prize, the Prize will not be awarded.

 
GENERAL RULES:
  1. Once received by the Colleges Ontario Contest management agency, all Contest entries will be at all times the property of Colleges Ontario and none will be returned. Entries that have been obtained or made through fraudulent means are subject to disqualification. Colleges Ontario will not be responsible for entries that are lost, misdirected, incomplete, incompatible or delayed for any reason whatsoever. Proof of entry submission does not constitute proof of receipt.
  2. Decisions of the Colleges Ontario Events Team, Colleges Ontario registrants and Colleges Ontario Contest management agency will be final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contest including the eligibility and/or disqualification of entries.
  3. It is expressly understood and agreed by all entrants that Colleges Ontario and its agents, contractors, representatives, and advertising, promotion and Contest management agencies do not accept responsibility, in whole or in part, for loss, damage or injury, howsoever caused in connection with the Prize or the conduct of the Contest.
  4. Prizes are non-transferable, except at the discretion of Colleges Ontario. Prizes are awarded to an individual only, not to a group.
  5. No Prize substitution will be made, save for Colleges Ontario’s right, at its sole discretion, to make a Prize substitution of equal or greater value.
  6. Winners (and their parent/legal guardian if a minor) will be required to sign a standard declaration and release confirming Contest eligibility, compliance with the Contest Official Rules and Regulations and releasing Colleges Ontario, its employees, affiliates and subsidiaries, franchisees, authorized retailers, agents, contractors, representatives, advertising, promotion and Contest management agencies and any independent judging organization from any liability, claims, damages and/or responsibility in connection with the conduct of the Contest or the awarding of the Prizes including, without limitation, any claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasions of privacy, copyright infringement, trade-mark infringement, or any other intellectual property related cause of action. Each winner (and his/her parent/legal guardian if he/she is a minor) agrees to the use of his/her name, address, voice, image, photograph and/or other likeness for publicity purposes without further notice or compensation. These images may appear in any of the wide variety of formats and media now available to Colleges Ontario and that may be available in the future, including but not limited to print, TV, Radio, CD-ROM, and electronic/online media.
  7. All winners must be residents of Ontario, 13 years of age or older to be awarded a Prize. Winners may be asked to present valid government issued ID to verify Ontario residency and age.
  8. Photo, name, and residence (town or city only) of Prize winners may be posted, published, or announced on the Contest website, the Colleges Ontario website and/or other media. Any personal information provided to or collected by Colleges Ontario or the Contest Management Agency, including but not limited to Contestant’s and/or Participant’s contact information, is intended to be used for the following principle purposes to conduct and administer the Contest by Colleges Ontario or through Colleges Ontario’s Contest manager, including, but not limited to the awarding of the Prize(s) and referring to such personal information in voice messages or other messages left for a selected entrant, for publicity and advertising purposes and to comply with legal requirements.
  9. Except as otherwise described in these Official Contest Rules, Colleges Ontario and its authorized agents will only use and disclose the personal information you provide when you participate in the Contest for the purposes of administering the Contest and prize fulfillment, unless you (and your parent/legal guardian if you are a minor) otherwise agree.
  10. All references to times and dates reflect Eastern Daylight Savings Time.
  11. Colleges Ontario, it’s Contest management and it’s agencies are not responsible for incomplete, lost, late, damaged, garbled, inaccurate, delayed, illegible or misdirected entries, mail or e-mail or videos or any technical problems, malfunctions of telephone lines, computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof or for any other problems or errors of any kind, whether technical, computer, network, mechanical, typographical, printing, uploading, human or otherwise, including without limitation, error or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the promotion, the processing or judging of entries, the tabulating of ratings, the announcement of prizes or in any promotion-related materials. Colleges Ontario, its Contest management, and its agencies are not responsible for any damage to any participant’s computer system/software related to or resulting from participation or downloading or uploading materials in this promotion.
  12. Any attempt to tamper with the entry process, interfere with these Contest rules, deliberately damage any website or undermine the administration, operation, or security of the website or the legitimate operation of the Contest, is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and Colleges Ontario reserves the right to disqualify and/or seek damages and/or other relief from all persons responsible for such acts to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  13. In the event of a dispute as to any entry, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to enter will be deemed to be the Contestant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an e-mail address service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail address for the account associated with the submitted address. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
  14. Colleges Ontario assumes no responsibility for: entries lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected, or for the failure, interruption or delay of any email or other communication to be received, for any reason; any computer viruses, time bombs, logic bombs and any other implanted devices of a like or similar nature that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest, problems with the function of any website or website feature howsoever caused; the malfunction of, or damage caused to, any telephone network or lines, computer equipment, data or software, online systems, servers or access providers, any functionality lost due to not having cookies enabled; traffic congestion on the Internet; the security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks; or for breaches of privacy due to interference by third party computer “hackers”; or any combination thereof, as a result of participation in this Contest.
  15. Colleges Ontario is not responsible for commencing, continuing, or completing the Contest or awarding the Prizes in the event of circumstances beyond their control. Colleges Ontario reserves the right to terminate, suspend or modify the Contest or these Contest rules, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice or obligation if, in Colleges Ontario’s sole opinion, any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Official Rules. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, if the Contest or any part thereof, is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of Colleges Ontario, which, in the sole opinion of Colleges Ontario, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Colleges Ontario may in its sole discretion void or suspend the Contest, or any portion thereof, to address the impairment and then resume the Contest, or relevant portion, in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; and/or award the prize from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment in accordance with the winner selection criteria outlines above.
  16. All decisions of the Contest judges with respect to this Contest are final.
  17. Draw dates and times are subject to change without notice.
  18. All non-winning Video entries will be destroyed on or after December 31, 2009. All winning and back-up entries for the Prizes will be destroyed on or after September 15, 2010.
  19. This Contest is subject to the laws of the Province of Ontario and the Federal laws of Canada as applicable.
  20. These Official Rules and Regulations govern this Contest and must be followed, and by agreeing to participate in the Contest, all entrants agree to comply with, and be bound by these Official Rules and Regulations.
 
 
Schedule “A”
COLLEGES ONTARIO CODE OF CONDUCT:
  • Upon receipt of your entry, your video will be screened by the Colleges Ontario Contest managers to ensure that it complies with the Terms of Submission below (Schedule B).
  • Colleges Ontario will post videos at Colleges Ontario’s sole discretion. Colleges Ontario reserves the right not to post any video entries for any reason.
  • Any inappropriate or indecent gestures or language, are prohibited and will result in disqualification of the entry.
  • Any products, music or trade-marks of Colleges Ontario, if shown in your entry, may not be defaced, damaged, demeaned, or otherwise shown in a negative way or your entry may be disqualified.
  • Video entries must not contain copyright material, trademarks, logos, music or images.
  • All video entry submissions must only feature the person who submitted the entry. Videos that contain any one under the age of 13 years of age, or feature more than one person will be disqualified
Schedule “B”
TERMS OF SUBMISSION: By submitting a video, you represent, warrant and agree, that you are 13 years of age or older. By submitting your video, you also represent, warrant and agree that you are resident of Ontario (Canada). Additionally, you agree that you have all rights, approvals and/or consents necessary to submit the video on the terms provided and your video does not violate the Terms of Use of the website, these Official Rules, or the rights of any other person or entity or any applicable law.
Your video must be your original creative work and must not contain footage, music, graphics or images of any other third party content or other material (such a writing, text, graphics, artwork, logos or designs), or any inappropriate or offensive materials. Any videos containing nudity, material that is violent, pornographic or otherwise obscene, illegal or morally offensive, or likely to transmit or contain a virus, corrupted file or any similar element as determined by Colleges Ontario, in its sole discretion, may be rejected or removed from the website. Videos must comply with all laws, rules, and regulations including, but not limited to, those concerning copyright, plagiarism, trademark, defamation and invasion of privacy. By uploading your video you agree that all right, title and interest, including any copyrights (and renewals) to videos shall be owned exclusively by Colleges Ontario. Colleges Ontario has the exclusive right (but not the obligation) to use, alter and/or edit any and all videos in any manner including future advertising, promotion and publicity in any medium now known or hereafter devised without notice, approval or consideration to you or any third party. You will not be paid for your submission or for granting any of these rights. You agree to waive all claims to and shall receive no royalties of any kind or any other fee now or in the future from Colleges Ontario. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Colleges Ontario and their respective advertising and promotional agencies from and against any and all liability, losses, costs, and expenses incurred as a result of any video you submit or transmit through the website in violation of these terms or any rights granted herein.
Please also be aware that your video may not be acknowledged and will not be received or held “in confidence” and your video does not create a confidential, fiduciary or other special relationship between you and Colleges Ontario and any of its respective suppliers or agencies. You acknowledge and agree that Colleges Ontario may or may not deem your video entry as eligible. An eligible entry is one that is posted to the “It’s All About M.E.” Contest Website.
 
TERMS OF VOTING: In order to vote for Contest entries, you must be at least 13 years of age. If you are at least 13 years old, but under the age of majority in Ontario, you must obtain the consent of your parent or legal guardian to these terms and the privacy policy before visiting the Contest Website or casting a vote for any Contest entry.
Voters must register on the Contest Website in order to cast their vote. Voters may submit one vote, per day, per Facebook or Twitter account the length of the Contest. In order to allow multiple individuals sharing a computer the opportunity to vote, a maximum of 10 votes per computer terminal may be cast each day. The use of fake, ‘phantom’ or pseudo Facebook or Twitter accounts for voting purposes is strictly prohibited. 
Any attempt to tamper with the voting process, interfere with any of the other Contest rules, deliberately damage the Contest Website or undermine the administration, operation, or security of the Contest Website or legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation which may result in the disqualification of the Contestant(s) at the sole discretion of Colleges Ontario and the injured party(ies) seeking damages and/or other relief from all persons responsible for such acts to the fullest extent permitted by law.
 
TERMS FOR SUBMITTING COMMENTS: In order to submit comments to the Contest Website, you must be at least 13 years of age. If you are at least 13 years old, but under the age of majority in Ontario, you must obtain the consent of your parent or legal guardian to these terms and the privacy policy before visiting the Contest Website or submitting comments to the Contest Website.
If you are submitting comments directly through the Contest Website you must register on the Contest Website before you will be able to post a comment. All contributors, whether commenting directly through the Contest Website or through a third party application agree not to include, knowingly or otherwise, any error or false information which may among other things, be a libel, slander, defamation or obscenity, or promote hatred or otherwise give rise to a criminal offence or civil liability.

Privacy
 
This Privacy Statement describes how Colleges Ontario will collect, use, and disclose personal information of Contestants of the M.E. Video Contest (“Contest”), and visitors to the Contest website, www.myeducation.me (“Contest Website”).
 
What is Personal Information?
 
Personal information is information you may have given us that relates specifically to your identity, such as:
 
  • name, mailing address, and email address(es)
  • log in user name and password
  • demographic information (example: your age)
  • your interests and preferences
  • personal identifiers in video content

Personal information is collected by use when you choose to provide it to us when entering the Contest, or when voting for or submitting comments about Contest entries. Participation in the Contest is voluntary, and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information.
 
What Personal Information Do We Collect?
 
Generally, you can visit www.myeducation.me (“Contest Website”) without submitting any personal information about yourself. However, to enter the Contest either online or through the video event locations, vote, or make comments directly on the Contest Website, you must complete the registration form provided. During registration you are required to give us your contact information and your age.
 
Colleges Ontario will collect personal information voluntarily submitted by you in order to enter the Contest, or vote for or comment on Contest entries. The type of information we request may include your:
  • name, address, telephone number, and email addresses
  • demographic information such as age, sex, place of residence, and educational information
  • username and password to vote and submit comments to the Contest Website
 
Personal information is also collected through the Contest Website’s technology. As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

Another way we collect personal information through our technology is through the use of cookies. Cookies are small files of information that save and retrieve information about your visit to the Contest Website, such as how you entered the site, how you navigated through the site, and what information you reviewed. The cookies we use identify you only as a number. You can disable cookies on your computer by changing the settings of your browser.
 
We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to recognize repeat visitors to the Contest Website so they do not have to log in every time they visit, to monitor the comments posted to the Contest Website and enforce the terms of the Contest, analyze trends, administer the site, track users’ movements around the site and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.
Why Are We Collecting Personal Information?
 
Your Personal Information is important for us to collect, as it allows us to: 
  • determine your identity;
  • administer and manage the Contest;
  • communicate with you;
  • respond to any questions you may have; and
  • provide information to you about our programs, services, promotions and events
 
Use of your Personal Information
 
Your personal information may be used by us for the following purposes: 
  • If you enter the Contest we may, under the rules of the Contest, use your name and certain other information to administer the Contest, such as contacting, announcing, and promoting the winners of the Contest;
  • If you vote for a Contest submission, we may contact you by email to confirm your vote;
  • We may use your personal information to monitor and control access to the Contest Website, to monitor the comments posted on the Contest Website, to ensure the rules concerning voting for Contest submissions are being followed, and to monitor other activities related to the Contest Website. Our right to use your personal information to monitor and control the contents of the Contest Website and voting procedures does not constitute a warranty or representation by Colleges Ontario to monitor and control the content posted on the Contest Website or voting procedures; and
  • Colleges Ontario may also use your personal information if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the information could be useful when investigating a contravention of federal, provincial or foreign law or in order to protect or defend a legal interest
 
Colleges Ontario will not sell, rent or lease your personal information to third parties
 
Disclosure of your Personal Information
 
We will only disclose your Personal Information to third parties: 
  • Where you have specifically given us your consent to disclose your Personal Information for a designated purpose; and
  • As required by law, such as by an order of a court, or to defend a legal interest. 
 
Protection of Personal Information
 
Colleges Ontario will take precautions to protect with the personal information you have provided. However, please remember that electronically submitted dated is not 100% secure, and therefore we make no warranties as to the security of any information you submit to us electronically. We will not collect personal information from any comments pages or forums on our website, or from the video content of the Contest entries however we cannot guarantee that personal information voluntarily disclosed as described above will not be collected and used by third parties

Children under the age of 13 years old are prohibited from entering the Contest, voting on Contest entries, commenting on Contest entries, and sharing Contest entries. No one under the age of 13 may provide any personal information to or on the Contest Website. Colleges Ontario will not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.
 
Colleges Ontario may collect personal information about people that are under the age of majority or who cannot give valid consent. Colleges Ontario will allow underage individuals to submit personal information and create accounts only if they indicate during registration that a parent or legal guardian has given consent on their behalf to this privacy policy and our participation terms during registration. If you are under the age of majority in Ontario and your parent or legal guardian has not consented on your behalf during registration to your use of this Contest Website, you may not use the Contest Website.

Any personal information, video content, or comments that you voluntarily disclose online may be collected and used by others. Materials and comments posted to online forums, feedback, bulletin boards or chat rooms are public, not secure and may be viewed by anyone. Colleges Ontario will encourage the sharing and online distribution of video content posted on the web page or submitted at a video event location. As such, any videos that you enter into the Contest may be shared or redistributed through the internet and other media channels, and may be viewed by other visitors to the Contest Website, or the general public. Sharing of contents may include the linking of your video to third party websites, or posting of your video on social networks such as but not limited to, Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter, and video sharing websites such as but not limited to, YouTube.
 
Links to and from Other Websites and Applications

The Contest Website contains links to other websites and applications operated by third parties, and may be itself be linked to other websites owned and operated by third parties. These third parties may have different policies concerning the treatment of personal information. Please review the privacy policies of these other websites before posting your Contest entry to another third party website, commenting on Contest entries through a third party website or application, or disclosing any information to a third party. Colleges Ontario takes no responsibility for the collection, disclosure, or use of any information submitted to a third party by you. 
 
Storage of Your Personal Information
 
Colleges Ontario will only store your personal information for a period that is reasonably necessary to meet the purposes for which it was collected.
 
Control of Your Personal Information
 
Upon request, Colleges Ontario will provide you with access to any personal information you have given us. Also, upon request, Colleges Ontario will destroy any Personal Information about you that it keeps on file; correct any incorrect personal information, while allowing you to continue to access its website. Please note that any request to destroy the personal information we have on file may exclude you from being able to participate in the Contest.
